Hugh joined the Institute in July 2022. He graduated from the University of Bristol with a degree in Modern Languages before returning to London to train and work as an actor, theatre-maker and teacher. Swapping the performing arts for politics in recent years – working during the lockdowns inside an arts campaign group and national climate movement – he is eager to tie his desire to tell stories together with bringing communities and industry together to effect impactful and productive change.

A keen cyclist and music lover, he likes to spend his spare time either taking off into Epping Forest or taking in London’s live music & art scene.
