The Impact Investing Institute today announces that Sarah Teacher will become Chief Executive from January 2027, following the decision of Bella Landymore to step down as co-Chief Executive at the end of this year after seven years with the Institute.

Sarah and Bella have led the Institute together as co-Chief Executives since 2024. Under their leadership, the Institute has helped bring impact investing closer to the centre of UK economic policy, securing greater government engagement with the impact economy. The Institute has accelerated pension investment in regional growth and private wealth allocations to impact, and spearheaded influential work on the role of capital across a range of issues – from financing climate resilience for vulnerable communities to positive outcomes for children.

Kieron Boyle, Chair of the Impact Investing Institute, said: “Bella has been at the heart of the Institute since its earliest days. She leaves it stronger, more influential and more ambitious than at any point in its history, and she does so with the gratitude and affection of everyone connected to it. Sarah has led the Institute with distinction over the past two years — she brings energy, conviction and real ambition for how investment serves society. The Board is delighted she will lead the Institute into its next chapter, at a moment when the opportunity in the UK and internationally has never been greater.”

Bella Landymore said: “After seven years, from helping to found the Institute to the privilege of leading it, this feels the right moment to close one chapter and begin another. I am enormously proud of what the Institute has become and grateful to the team, Board and partners who have made it so. Leading alongside Sarah has been one of the great joys of my career. She is a remarkable colleague and partner, and I could not be happier that she will continue to build on the Institute’s achievements.”

Sarah Teacher said: “It is a privilege to lead the Institute into its next phase.  I want to thank Bella for our inspiring and deeply productive partnership as Co-CEOs, and the Board for its confidence. The case for an economy where capital serves people and planet has never been stronger, and the Institute’s role in making that real — with investors, with government, and with partners around the world — is central to driving the progress we need.  I am excited to build on the extraordinary platform we have created together and help shape the future of investing in the UK and beyond.”

Bella will remain in post until the end of December, working with Sarah on a full transition.
