One billion children live in poverty, 244 million aren’t in school and nearly 70% of 10-year-olds are unable to read simple text. In the UK, 29% of children live in poverty, and 123,000 are homeless.1
This enormous global challenge presents a huge opportunity for impact capital.
Together with our partners at Save the Children Global Ventures, we have kicked off a new programme in 2025 aimed at building the field for child lens investing.
What is child lens investing?
Child-lens investing sees investors consider the potential for an investment opportunity to intentionally impact children in a positive manner. It involves rigorously integrating these considerations into investment decision-making, structuring and impact measurement.
We are working closely with financial institutions, foundation leaders, field builders and policymakers to map the landscape of child lens investing, understand the market’s growth potential and engage investors on how to get more capital flowing into positive outcomes for early years and children.
