Sophia Omar is a Programme Manager at the Impact Investing Institute, where she leads initiatives to mobilise private capital for social and environmental impact. Her work has a particular focus on supporting charitable foundations, family offices, pension schemes and other asset owners to develop an impact investing practice.

Prior to her current role, Sophia was selected for the competitive On Purpose Associate Programme, where she worked with prominent organisations including Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Foundation. Her earlier experience includes managing production at Itza Media, an EdTech company focused on environmental education, and conducting policy research for human rights and education charities in both Pakistan and London.

Sophia sits on the Finance and Audit Committee of Barnwood Trust, an independent grant-making foundation, and has acted as a judge for the Africa Impact Investing Awards in 2023 and 2024. She holds a BA in English Language & Literature from King’s College London and the Impact and Impact Investing qualification from the CFA UK
