Robert has been Chief Executive of Cambridge City Council since April 2021. Prior to that he held leadership roles at the United Nations in New York, in the civil service with HM Treasury, and in the third sector at Social Finance.
Robert is Chair of Greater Cambridge Impact a social investment fund which works with local partners to improve outcomes for young people and prevent homelessness; a board member of New Local, a think-tank that champions ‘community power’; and a board member of Innovate Cambridge which promotes the role of life sciences and technology locally and internationally. Robert was recently a member of the government’s Advisory Group for Social Impact Investment.
