She leads the Private Wealth programme, supporting charitable foundations and family offices to develop impact investing practices, and the Institute’s pensions work, including its campaign to reform UK pension regulations to clarify the fiduciary duties of trustees. Her role combines direct work with investors with efforts to change the system those investors operate within.
Sophia has authored and co‑authored several publications on impact investing, including work on endowment strategy, wealth management and the use of catalytic capital for a just transition.
Before joining the Institute, Sophia held policy and research roles in international development and worked at an early‑stage impact EdTech start‑up focused on environmental education. She holds a BA in English Language and Literature from King’s College London and a CFA UK Certificate in Impact and Impact Investing. She sits on the Finance and Investment Committee of Barnwood Trust and has judged the Africa Impact Investing Awards since 2023.
